Location: New York City
Department: Commissioning
- Manage all aspects of the NYC Commissioning Office including business development, office personnel, proposal generation, project execution and job performance profitability.
- Be responsible for direction and development of the NYC Commissioning Business in conjunction with the Corporate Commissioning Department growth.
- Manage the implementation of standards and processes that are to be utilized to streamline and improve the delivered product to the client and promote ease of execution of the commissioning process so that efforts can be focused to provide the most value to the client.
- Manage project profitability and department billability including the balancing of personnel workload with entire Concord Commissioning team.
- Business development in accordance with corporate defined goals.
- Track project financial projections for office assigned projects and business development activities.
- Conduct new client acquisition meetings and attend project pre-bid meetings prior to proposal development.
- Be responsible for proposal development and fee estimation, to be reviewed by the SVP, Commissioning before bid submission.
- Consistently analyze the NY Commissioning market and competition to better position the team for increasing market share.
- Be responsible for ensuring the latest industry technologies are available to the Commissioning personnel, including the required training for personnel.
- Be responsible to recruit, hire and retain new team members as the workload supports, with support from the SVP, Commissioning.
- Provide technical direction for the NYC Commissioning Group as needed to ensure project execution and client relationships meet the department standards to foster long-term working relationships.
- Closely manage and oversee Commissioning Team field activities to ensure quality of work product and ensure the workload is adequately shared amongst the field personnel.
- Develop and maintain relationships with project contacts to develop additional business and/or develop on-going relationship.

- Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, MBA or related Master’s degree (preferred)
- Commissioning Certification issued by AEE, BCA, ASHRAE or ACG
- Minimum 10 years of progressive managerial, engineering, or construction experience with a strong record of accomplishment in managing large multi-faceted projects requiring solid planning, control, review, and cost analysis.
- Construction and general contractor experience preferred
- MBA, P.E. or other certifications by Accredited Groups preferred

- Implement and maintain construction administration project controls, including shop drawings, RFI logs, etc.
- Prepare AIA contracts and proposal letters
- Assist with specifications editing and formatting
- Prepare transmittals
- Assist in technical, administrative tasks such as data entry, logging shop drawings and requests for information etc.
- Prepare and submit department billing review reports, invoicing, and expenses per accounting requirements
- Create, format, prepare and proof-read documents for reports and other department documents
- Assist in day-to-day activities, including coordinating and managing meetings, department schedules, vacation schedules, travel arrangements, and other general office duties.

- Associate’s degree (preferred)

Department: Commercial Department
- Design energy-efficient HVAC systems and mechanical systems per client requirements.
- For some projects, perform as the Engineer of Record signing and sealing drawings for projects under your direction and supervision.
- Conduct load calculations analysis and energy modeling using programs such as eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR and/or Carrier HAP.
- Review projects regularly to ensure departmental standards and requirements are consistent with client requirements and the project budget.
- Using Revit, perform design, layout, and checking of mechanical and HVAC drawings and ensure the technical correctness of the drawings by using the applicable job, federal, state and local standards and codes.
- Provide direction to less experienced Engineers in Training when working together with them on projects.
- Perform site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings and provide field construction support, as required.
- Implement training development, in conjunction with Project Engineer, other engineers, designers and draftspersons as assigned to your projects.
- Assist the PM/Project Engineer in proposal development, client management and overall project execution.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum five to ten years professional experience with proven progression in Mechanical/HVAC design with an emphasis on sustainable/green building.
- Experience in executing a design project with Autodesk Autocad, Revit and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred but at minimum should be working towards licensure.
- Must be knowledgeable of local, state and national code requirements.
- Must have experience/working knowledge of load analysis and energy modeling programs such as eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR and/or Carrier HAP.
- Knowledgeable of the USGBC LEED Rating system and standards.
- Must be a good time manager, comfortable with frequent deadlines and transitions.
- Effective at working with other staff members in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have excellent communication skills to effectively communicate complex ideas and have strong technical writing skills and technical documentation skills with the ability to prepare presentations and reports.

- Working knowledge and utilization of AutoCAD Revit experience is a plus.
