Concord Engineering Group and CEM Engineering Announce Merger of Power & Infrastructure Operations
Combined team brings expanded depth, breadth, and experience to power and infrastructure projects across the United States and Canada.
For Immediate Release
April 22, 2026
VOORHEES, NJ & ST. CATHARINES, ON — Concord Engineering Group (Concord) and CEM Engineering today announced the merger of their engineering operations, uniting their Power & Infrastructure teams under a single, integrated management structure. The merger brings together two highly respected firms with deep roots in the power and infrastructure sector, creating one of the most experienced and capable engineering teams in North America.
The merger builds on a strategic partnership first announced several years ago, which established a strong foundation of collaboration between the two firms. Today’s announcement marks the next phase of that relationship, formally integrating operations so that clients, partners, and vendors can benefit from the full strength of a unified team.
For clients, the merger means access to a larger, more versatile team with a broader range of expertise across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls, civil and structural engineering. The combined organization offers enhanced project delivery capabilities, greater resource depth, and the ability to support large-scale, complex projects with the agility and responsiveness of a privately owned firm.
In a period of extreme consolidation of engineering companies, I am excited to be part of a true synergistic merger of like-minded companies coming together to meet the market’s demands. Cultural alignment is everything, you can’t deliver a seamless project without it. I believe our clients will see the difference and recognize we provide an alternative that will make quality and speed to market a reality for them.
Our clients are working in one of the most dynamic and fast-moving markets in the world, and they need an engineering partner who can keep pace — and stay ahead. This merger gives them that. We're combining two teams with decades of hard-won expertise and an unwavering commitment to project excellence. For our clients, that means more experience behind every project, more depth to draw on, and a team that is genuinely invested in their success.
Under the merged structure, Matt Lensink will continue as the CEO of CEM Engineering and now serve as President of Concord’s Power & Infrastructure division, leading the combined executive team. Both firms will continue to maintain their respective Canadian and US operations and professional engineering licensing requirements.
Clients and partners can expect the same commitment to quality, responsiveness, and technical excellence they have come to rely on — now backed by a stronger, larger, and more integrated team.
