Currently, Concord has Certified GeoExchange Designers (CGD) as certified by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) on staff. These individuals are capable of providing our clients with geothermal designs that are engineered and designed in accordance with geothermal industry standards and in accordance with the regulations set forth by the state of New Jersey. Concord’s president, Mr. Michael Fischette, PE, CGD has been instrumental in supporting the regulation of geothermal design and installations in New Jersey.

Energy Management
Concord’s staff are highly trained individuals with expertise and proficiency in the field of energy management. Concord currently has Certified Energy Managers (CEM) certified by the Association of Energy Engineers (AAE). Concord’s CEM’s are energy management professionals that possess skills necessary to direct and manage energy related projects ranging from design, installation, procurement, commissioning, and financing.

Energy Procurement
Concord provides tremendous services related to the purchase, sale, and marketing of electricity and natural gas. Currently, Concord’s staff includes Certified Energy Procurement Professionals (CEP) certified by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). Highly qualified and knowledgeable in the field of energy procurement, these individuals offer clients energy from the best vendors at the best market prices to suit their individual energy needs.

Energy Efficiency
Concord’s staff has completed numerous energy audits throughout the State of New Jersey as a participant energy engineering firm in the Board of Public Utilities’ Local Government Energy Audit (LGEA) program. Most notably is the completion of 750 ASHRAE Level 2 energy audits for school districts and municipalities. During these ASHRAE Level 2 energy audits Concord has reviewed building mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to determine energy savings based on remaining equipment life, operational control and maintenance practices. In addition, to our highly touted energy auditing background, Concord has participated in Energy Master Planning services and Feasibility Study services for our clients. Our engineering staff has the breadth and depth to provide our clients with all required services.

Commissioning (Cx)
Concord has high regard for system installation, operation and owner training. Therefore, Concord has dedicated staff that are utilized to provide commissioning, retro-commissioning or owner’s representative services for our various clients. New Jersey Clean Energy – Pay for Performance (P4P) Program
Concord was approved as one of the original Pay for Performance Partners in the New Jersey Clean Energy Program. The Pay for Performance Program rewards larger commercial and industrial customers who comprehensively upgrade their facilities through investments in energy efficiency. This ground-breaking program offers up to three million dollars in incentives to customers whose facilities have an annual peak electric demand over 200 kW. The base target is a 15% energy reduction across the board. Utilizing energy modeling software, EPA Portfolio Manager and other energy engineering calculations an Energy Reduction Plan is formulated. Any recommended energy conservation measures proposed in the Energy Reduction Plan must have a minimum 10% internal rate of return (IRR). The program is divided into three incentive phases as follows:

1  Incentive 1 – Energy Reduction Plan
1  Incentive 2 – Measure Installation
1  Incentive 3 – Post-Construction Benchmarking

Currently, as an approved Partner, Concord has multiple projects in the works moving towards an Incentive 1 approval.

United States EPA Energy Star Program
ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping the general public and big business save money and protect the environment through the use of energy efficient products and practices. Concord has created multiple ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager accounts in order to aid Owners in benchmarking current energy usage and tracking future energy usage in order to calculate actual energy savings through input of their utility bills. The Portfolio Manager program calculates Site and Source Energy and provides an Energy Usage Index (EUI) number for the Owner to utilize in comparing their facility’s energy usage with facilities of similar type. In addition, each facility (if applicable) is provided with a “Benchmark” Energy Score as compared to facilities throughout their region that the EPA has gathered empirical data for.

New Jersey Clean Energy – Smart Start Program
Concord has great familiarity with the New Jersey Clean Energy Smart Start Program. The Program Incentives are available to non-residential retail electric and/or gas service customers of the regulated New Jersey Utilities as follows: Atlantic City Electric, Jersey Central Power & Light, Rockland Electric Company, New Jersey Natural Gas, Elizabethtown Gas, PSE&G, and South Jersey Gas.

Concord has filed many applications for our clients to receive incentives for energy efficient purchases of lighting systems, mechanical equipment and also, custom measures. We have worked very closely with the Program’s Market Manager (TRC Energy Services) in order to maximize our client’s incentives on a per project basis and to limit any issues within the “Application and Eligibility” process as outlined on the New Jersey Clean Energy’s website.
